Marcie Dinkin, LCSW

Outside of the office, you can catch me watching BRAVO, working out, watching sports, and hanging with friends and family. I love the Houston Rodeo and have recently started learning how to cook.

Building Strong Client Relationships to Facilitate Positive Change

I believe that building strong relationships with clients is essential to achieving success in our work together. As a therapist, I take a humanistic approach focusing on developing rapport and trust through authenticity and empathy. I'm here to support you in your journey toward personal growth and healing.

My therapeutic methods include Mentalizing and Empathy to facilitate understanding of emotions, mindfulness to cultivate presence and non-judgment, Dialectical Behavior Therapy to improve communication and regulate emotions, RO DBT to address social signaling and connectedness with others, Psychodynamic Therapy to explore unconscious thoughts and feelings, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify and modify negative thoughts and behaviors, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a specialized protocol for teens dealing with PTSD.

Why choose me as your therapist? I see myself as your teammate, cheerleader, and advocate. I understand that the first step towards change can be scary, and I'm here to help you every step of the way. My approach is centered around you; together, we can navigate any obstacles. You are not alone and I am committed to helping you achieve positive change.

Let's get started!

What Clients Are Saying

  • Our therapist has been incredible for our family. We started seeing her as my son was preparing to leave for college. She helped us with his anxieties, the way they were playing out as well as overall stress on the family that has been present throughout high school. My son and I were able to communicate and have an appreciation for each other's perspectives and have him leave on a good note. Now that my son has gone to college, I plan to continue seeing her to live in my new role of parenting from afar and also prepare for his return over the holidays.

  • We would not be where we are today without your help, Marcie. Our sessions with you had an immeasurable value; your advice truly resonated and sunk in, and we will be forever grateful. Your input had a real positive impact on our family.

  • Our therapist's skill in helping parents that have difficult teens cannot be overstated. Her feedback and guidance have significantly improved the quality of our family life. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for parent coaching as they are trying to change the family dynamic with their dysregulated pre-teen/teen. I am truly grateful for her help.
